Technical Committee Members

The Regional Technical Committee on Shea Product Standards is chaired by the African Organization for Standardization (ARSO), and the Secretariat of the Committee is the Ghana Standards Board (GSB).

Members of the Technical Committee consist of one member representing each of the following 16 national governments of the shea producing countries, as represented by their respective national standards bodies (NSBs), or parallel organs of line relevant ministries in case there is no NSB for that country:

Cameroon
Central African Republic
Chad
Ethiopia
Ghana
Guinea
Ivory Coast
Mali
Niger
Nigeria
Senegal
Sudan (Southern Sudan)
Togo
Uganda

Also represented as observers are the African Organization for Standardization (ARSO) representatives of the following sub-regional institutions:

ECOWAS (represented by the Ghana Standards Board),
CEEAC (represented by the Office Congolais de Contrôle), and
COMESA (represented by the Uganda National Bureau of Standards)

Finally, observer status on the committee is extended to the Union Économique et Monétaire Ouest Africaine (UEMOA).

Other stakeholders from the private sector, academia, research institutions and consumers will be represented at the national level.
